“Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela portrayed the importance of education accurately with these words. And while the government’s dedicated attempts of providing education even in the remotest of villages are ongoing, Freshmen’s Valley recently took a small step to aid the cause too.
Under its CSR initiative – Kaushal Vikas Abhiyan, Freshmen’s Valley launched its first IT skill development centre called ‘Computer Saksharta Kendra’ on 25th of April in Chandan Kati Mauja village of Sambhal District Uttar Pradesh. The IT skill development centre is equipped with all modern IT infrastructures, 24 hours electricity supply, a well-trained staff, free study materials and a library to make the literature available – all available without any charge.
The IT centre was inaugurated by Mr. Gurbinder Singh, Director and has been established to make the village technologically advanced through the medium of computer education. Besides enabling farmers to access digital information, the IT centre will also assist rural students in their pursuit of education. The core aim of providing computer education is to equip the farming community with technology and create employment opportunities for trained students of the Sambhal region.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Tanya Joshi (Team Leader, CSR Initiatives) said, “We, at Freshmen’s Valley continue to strive to accelerate the growth of the community through various initiatives. The opening of the IT centre will equip them on the usage of the technology and will create a self- sustained eco- system for them.”
Freshmen’s Valley firmly believes that such social initiatives are necessary for the betterment of rural life. The educated rural community will help break the intellectual barrier between villages and cities, thus enabling both to cooperate and work together – and computer education will be an important part of that. With many more such small steps towards community good, Freshmen’s Valley wishes to take a huge leap forward into a better future.
