Welcome Summers with Tempting Lassi Recipes

The rising temperature outside and numerous beverages that relieve us of it go hand-in-hand in summers.

One such beverage hailing from India and Pakistan, lassi, has been keeping us healthy and refreshed since we can remember. While no one can beat the traditional taste, Freshmen’s Valley, one of the best milk brands in Delhi, has brought together few unique lassi recipes on World Health Day that will keep you healthy and full.

Strawberry & Watermelon Lassi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • Sugar, as required
  • 1 cup fresh watermelon juice
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped
  • 1/2 ripe banana, chopped
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds and few raspberries

Instructions

  • Chill serving glasses in the freezer for few minutes prior to serving.
  • Blend all ingredients (except chia seeds) until creamy and smooth.
  • Top with little chia seeds & raspberries and serve.

Peanut Butter Lassi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • Sugar, as required
  • Few cubes of ice
  • 4 dates, chopped
  • 2 tbsp creamy natural peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup frozen blueberries

Instructions

  • Chill serving glasses in the freezer for few minutes prior to serving.
  • Blend all ingredients until creamy and smooth.
  • Serve cold.

Mint Matcha Lassi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • 1 cup full fat coconut milk, frozen into ice cubes
  • Few cubes of ice
  • Sugar, as required
  • 3 tbsp matcha green tea decoction
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint oil
  • 2 tbsp mint leaves, chopped

Instructions

  • Chill serving glasses in the freezer for few minutes prior to serving.
  • Blend all ingredients (except mint leaves) until creamy and smooth.
  • Serve cold garnished with mint leaves.

Spiced Walnut Lassi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • Sugar, as required
  • Few cubes of ice
  • 1 cup walnuts, powdered & toasted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Equal pinches of cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg powder

Instructions

  • Chill serving glasses in the freezer for few minutes prior to serving.
  • Blend all ingredients (except walnuts) until creamy and smooth.
  • Mix walnuts and serve cold.

Breakfast Lassi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • Sugar, as required
  • Few cubes of ice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 small apple, cored and roughly grated
  • 2 cups beetroot & raspberry purée
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 2 dates, chopped
  • Fresh mint leaves, chopped

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients (except mint leaves) until creamy and smooth.
  • Serve cold garnished with mint leaves.

Chai-wali Lassi

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • Sugar, as required
  • Few cubes of ice
  • 1 cup strong tea decoction
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • Fresh mint leaves, chopped

Instructions

  • Chill serving glasses in the freezer for few minutes prior to serving.
  • Blend all ingredients (except mint leaves) until creamy and smooth.
  • Serve cold garnished with mint leaves.

Caffeine-kick Lassi

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • Sugar, as required
  • Few cubes of ice
  • 1/2 cup espresso, or strong coffee decoction
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder

Instructions

  • Chill serving glasses in the freezer for few minutes prior to serving.
  • Blend all ingredients until creamy and smooth.
  • Serve cold.

Green Tea Pistachio Lassi

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yogurt, fresh & thick
  • Sugar, as required
  • Few cubes of ice
  • 1 cup concentrated green tea, extra-strong
  • 2 tbsp pistachios, slivered

Instructions

  • Chill serving glasses in the freezer for few minutes prior to serving.
  • Blend all ingredients (except pistachios) until creamy and smooth.
  • Serve cold garnished with pistachios.

For a healthier and different version, sugar can be replaced with honey or raw/cane sugar. Simple and sweet, lassi can take on many flavours and combinations to quench your thirst in the scorching heat and leave you refreshed!
